I've been lazy the past 3 days writing my blog, too busy enjoying the last few days with my friend Carina, who had to fly back to Germany yesterday, after staying with me for a few weeks over my birthday. So first of all, I'm sorry about not posting anything...
Today is Monday - Day 7 of my diet and the first week is completed! Today was the big day - the measuring day! I am finally getting to see if the past 7 days are showing some progress. And they did! Here are the results:
Lbs lost since May 1st (incl. Dr. Oz 3 Day Detox Clense & HCG Diet) - 10.6lbs
Lbs lost in 1st week of HCG Diet - 6.6lbs
Inches lost on Bust - 0 (Thank god!)
Inches lost on Waist - 0 (I'm ok with that, since I have a small waist)
Inches lost on Hips - 1"
Inches lost on Bicep (left) - 1.7"Inches lost on Bicep (right) - 2"
Inches lost on Thigh (left) - 0.7"
Inches lost on Thigh (right) - 0.2"
Inches lost on Calf (left) - 0.3"
Inches lost on Calf (right) - 0.4"
I am super happy with the first weeks progress! I've done plenty of other diets that took much more suffering than this one did in the first week.
Overall I can say from the first week - I feel awesome and didn't expect this diet to be so "easy". Yes I did feel hungry the first 2-3 days and had a slight headache. And yes - I still have cravings when I smell someone else preparing/eating something that I like. But with the strict diet and the timed food intake, its definitely doable! I'm still struggling with drinking my min. 10 cups of water every day, but getting better at it. I bought this giant jug from the 99 cent store that fits exactly 10 cups and trying to finish an entire one by the end of each day. Being able to use MIO Water Enhancer helps a lot to make the water intake easier.
I had a bit of a hard time over the weekend, but stayed strong and didn't slip. We went to the Observatory on Saturday night and afterwards, everyone got a Frozen Yogurt. That was pretty hard, watching everyone eat and enjoy their dessert, while I sipped on my water.
I have to remember to take more snacks with me, when I leave the house. Snacks as in cucumber slices, since cucumbers are free foods and I can eat as many of them as I want. Another free food is celery, but like I mentioned before - I'm not a big fan of munching on a stick of raw celery...
Then yesterday on Sunday night, we went to the movies to see "The Great Gatsby" (what an awesome movie btw!). This time I prepared better and took a small Tupperware dish with me, filled with thick sliced cucumbers and a Vitamin Water Zero. But the smell of delicious pop corn and my husband munching M&Ms next to me was pretty hard to resist. But I did it!
Another thing that's finally happening is that I'm getting more and more used to my morning coffee without milk/creamer. I used to have at least 2 Tablespoons of flavored creamer in my coffee, there was no way getting around that, I had to have my creamer or I was unable to drink a cup of coffee. Now with the diet and only being able to have 1 Tablespoon of milk a day and adding a sachet of Stevia, I slowly started getting used to the taste. It took a while, I have to be honest. The first week was horrible and I just wanted to skip the morning coffee all together. I ran out of milk at some point last week and had no time grabbing some, so the next morning I had to no choice but to go black ;) And surprisingly it wasn't that bad. I've had my coffee black since then and still have not picked up any milk, lol!
The Walden Farms products are my best friends and I couldn't imagine a life without them! For my 3.5oz of protein for dinner I usually have steak and I love the Barbecue Sauce! The Balsamic Vinaigrette usually gets used every other day for a green salad and 3.5oz of chicken breast for lunch.
I'm slowly starting to get a routine and am very happy!
